The Thistle is meant to represent the letter "T" as Drop Capital illustration. The shape of the flower resembles a capital T. The illustration is done with cross-stitching technique because the tiny crosses are small letter T's in order to furthur represnt the letter.

Traditional Ukrainian cross-stitching is the inspiration for the piece as it uses many beautiful geometric shapes and illustrates a variety of flowers.
